The Colchester Waits welcome a wide range of musicians from different backgrounds to join them in recreating the civic band of Colchester from the Middle Ages through till the 17th century. Players come to as many rehearsals and events as they are able, and so at every performance there will be a slightly different combination of players and instruments. We have 15 regular members at present, as well as some occasional guests, with backgrounds in everything from classical music to rock & pop, jazz, brass bands and folk. What doesn’t change is the band’s energetic style and welcoming attitude. We look forward to visiting ‘s-Hertogenbosch for the third time and meeting musical friends old and new.

De Colchester Waits verwelkomen een breed scala aan muzikanten van verschillende achtergronden om hen te vergezellen in het creëren van de stads-band van Colchester, zoals die bestaan heeft vanaf de middeleeuwen tot de 17e eeuw. Spelers komen naar zoveel repetities als hen mogelijk is, en zo is er bij optredens een licht wisselende combinatie van spelers en instrumenten. Momenteel zijn er 15 vaste spelers aangevuld met wisselende gasten met achtergronden in zo’n beetje alles: van klassiek tot rock en pop, jazz, koperensembles en folk. Wat niet verandert is de energetische stijl en verwelkomende houding. We kijken ernaar uit om ’s-Hertogenbosch voor de derde keer te bezoeken en nieuwe en oude muzikale vrienden te ontmoeten.
