The revived York Waits went on to perform concerts and take part in festivals around the UK, in several European countries and in the United States. They are proud to have been visiting \u2019s-Hertongenbosch for more than 20 years. The band has released ten recordings of music from periods that include the life and times of the English monarchs Richard III, Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. The York Waits have frequently performed and recorded as a six-part ensemble \u2013 with a variety of stringed instruments and a singer added to the sound palate \u2013 but also take part in ceremonial events by reverting to a three or four-part shawm and sackbut band of the kind that would have rung in the ears of 15th and 16th century townspeople.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"945\" height=\"551\" src=\"https:\/\/stadspijpers.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/York-Waits-pic-for-Den-Bosch-2024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stadspijpers.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/York-Waits-pic-for-Den-Bosch-2024.jpg 945w, https:\/\/stadspijpers.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/York-Waits-pic-for-Den-Bosch-2024-300x175.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stadspijpers.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/York-Waits-pic-for-Den-Bosch-2024-768x448.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>De York Waits zijn gevormd in 1977, en zijn pioniers in het opnieuw tot leven brengen van de uitvoeringen van oude muziek, zoals dat in de meeste welvarende Europese steden in de middeleeuwen en renaissance werd gebracht. De vernieuwde York Waites hebben opgetreden op concerten en festivals in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, in verschillende Europese landen en in de USA. Ze zijn er trots op nu al meer dan 20 jaar \u2019s-Hertogenbosch te bezoeken. De band heeft tien albums uitgebracht met muziek uit periodes dat het leven omvat van de Engelse koningen Richard III, Hendrik VIII en Elizabeth I. De York Waits hebben vaak opgetreden als een 6-koppig ensemble, met een verscheidenheid aan snaarinstrumenten en een zanger, maar treden ook om een ceremonies waarbij gebruik wordt gemaakt van 3- of 4 stemmig schalmei-ensemble en een doedelzak.
